WATERBERG TVET COLLEGE CALL FOR NOMINATIONS OF MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO BE APPOINTED TO SERVE ON THE COUNCIL FOR WATERBERG TVET COLLEGE (LIMPOPO PROVINCE) IN TERMS OF THE CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRAINING (CET) ACT OF NO 16 0F 2006 (AS AMENDED) The College INVITES the public to nominate candidates to serve on the Council of the aterberg TVET College in terms of Section 10 (6) of the Continuing Education and Training Act No. 16 of 2006 as amended. * Organisations, interest groups and individuals are hereby invited to nominate candidates to serve on the council of the above TVET college. * All nominations must be supported by a witness. * A nominee must be a person with knowledge and experience relevant to the governance of a TVET College. * The person shall have the requisite expertise and experience in public or private institutions and a broad range of competencies in areas such as, but not limited to governance, finance and audit, management, technical education, business, law, information technology, human resource management and stakeholder relations. * The appointment is for a period of five (5) years (to be aligned with current term of Council). * The Waterberg TVET Council has a fiduciary, governance and policy-making duty and is the highest governing body responsible for determining the TVET college's strategic direction. * Nominees should preferably have a graduate or post graduate tertiary qualification(s)and extensive senior executive, management and/or board level experience and expertise, in any of the areas below, preferably in the TVET or higher education sector: strategic and institutional planning; budget and financial statements; audit and risk functions; legislative and regulatory environment and general legal processes within which the colleges operates; sound understanding of human resource and remuneration systems and processes; ICT governance; and facilities management and the broader built environment. * Affiliation and/or certification with the relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage. * The Interim College Council (Ministerial appointees) will consider criteria relating to race, gender, disability, and geographical location to when recommendation is made to the Minister for concurrence.
