SENIOR LECTURER IN HOSPITALITY (2 X POSTS) Organisational Unit University of Mpumalanga -> Teaching and Learning -> Faculty of Economics, Development and Business Sciences Job Primary Purpose The primary role of this position is to provide teaching, research and leadership in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Key Performance Areas: KPAs Senior Lecturer Leadership The provision of leadership at the discipline level. Teaching & Learning Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Research Research and the production of accredited research outputs. Postgraduate supervision and the graduation of Masters' and Doctoral students in the minimum time. Engagement Engagement, through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/profession and the community. Minimum requirements Senior Lecturer Qualifications PhD in Tourism and Hospitality Management or relevant field. Undergraduate qualification in Hospitality Management or any Hospitality related discipline. Teaching experience 5 years teaching experience in a variety of hospitality modules at university level. Research A strong record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and international journals and presentations at national and international conferences. A good record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' level with some of these students publishing their research. Engagement Participation in learned societies. Some application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community. Key Competencies Competencies and skills. Senior Lecturer Disciplinary knowledge In depth knowledge in the theory and application of the Hospitality discipline Leadership Good understanding of principles of leadership and management with well-developed leadership and management skills.
