Install, maintain, and repair all aspects of electrical lighting and power supplies to buildings and structures including tracing and repair of faults. 7. Maintenance, fault finding and repairs to sewer stations and pumps and associated electrical equipment. 8. Under the guidance of an accredited Master Electrician inspect, maintain, fault find and repair flame proof equipment and installations, (class 1, class 2, class 22) located in hazardous areas in accordance with SANS10142 Wiring Regulations and OHS Act Installation Regulations. 9. Undertake new electrical installations in accordance with SANS10142 Regulations and OHS Act Installation Regulations. 10. Under the guidance of a certificated electrician (Category A Brown), assist with work on high voltage installation and equipment repairs in terms of Transnet Electrical Safety Instructions. 11. General electrical refurbishment and upgrade of electrical installations. 12. Repairs to electrical workshop tools and equipment as required. 13. Installation of electricity billing meters and the reading thereof. 14. Cleaning and servicing of electrical plant and equipment. 15. Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. 16. Undertake minor mechanical repairs to plant and equipment. 17. Maintenance, fault finding and repairs to battery chargers and batteries. 18. Respond to breakdown ca/fs on buildings and area lighting installations/distribution during normal working hours only. 19. Monitor operation of cathodi9 protection installations and test points associated with protection of metallic underground services and pipelines and carry out minor maintenance repairs. 20. Electrical maintenance and repairs to existing low voltage electrical infrastructure, lighting, plant and equipment in order to optimise the availability of electro-mechanical infrastructure, lighting and electrical power supply to clients and meet statutory requirements. 21. Electrical modification and refurbishment to existing infrastructure and equipment to extend service life and ensure continued reliable service. 22. Maintain electrical tools and equipment to ensure continuous availability for use by operators and maintenance personnel and meet statutory requirements. 23. Electrical alterations and additions to electrical installations in buildings and for area lighting in order to satisfy client requirements and meet statutory requirements. 24. Respond to breakdown calls from clients during normal working hours and carry out repairs to ensure an effective electrical service is provided to port clients. 25. Carry out new electrical installation projects to ensure effective completion of projects on time and to client requirements.
