APPLICATIONS FOR SHRA INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is a schedule 3A public entity of the Department of Human Settlements established in terms of the Public Finance Management Act, No. 1 of 1999 (PFMA), with the mandate to provide rental social housing for low to medium income earners as per the Social Housing Act, No 16 of 2008. The SHRA wishes to invite applications from the graduates for Internship opportunities which are aimed at providing unemployed young graduates below the age of 35 with workplace experience. The young graduate programme is a two-year programme aimed towards providing work experience to young graduates from various Universities and the University of Technology. INTERNSHIP: X1 RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT INTERN a) Position Risk and Compliance Management Intern b) Department / Unit Risk Department c) Reporting Position Chief Risk Officer d) Location Johannesburg e) Key Learning Areas • Identify risk activities and assist in conducting risk assessments and updating the risk registers. • Assist in the planning and monitoring of risk mitigation strategies and obtaining evidence of activities. • Liaise with the appropriate stakeholders and role players in the various Units to establish relationships. • Assist in ensuring understanding of the risks, emerging risks, processes and controls, to enable pro-active risk management. • Conduct research on emerging risks as well as various applicable compliance requirements. • Prepare risk and compliance reports for management. • Assist in enhancing compliance checklists in consultation with business units and obtaining evidence of compliance. • Assist in capturing risk information into the ERP risk management system (BarnOwl). • Assist in improving the maturity of risk and compliance management level of the SHRA. • Improve the standard operating procedure for risk and compliance management. • Monitor the quality of own work and compile reports where necessary. • Provide general support with general administration to the Chief Risk Officer and conduct ad-hoc administrative tasks as required, including taking minutes of meetings. • Risk activities and assist in conducting risk assessments and updating the risk registers. • required, including taking minutes of meetings. f) Requirements BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES AND REQUIRED SKILLS: • Well organised and able to prioritise own work. • Meets deadlines. • Report writing. • Analytical skills with strong attention to detail. • Good interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude. • Willingness to learn. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: • 1-year relevant experience will be advantageous. • Must be computer literate and know how to use Microsoft Office. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: • National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Enterprise Risk Management/ Compliance Management/ Risk and Compliance. • B Degree (NQF level 7) Internal Audit/ Enterprise Risk Management/ Risk and Compliance would be advantageous. g) Stipend R 10 000.00 h) Experience Required None i) Duration 24 months
