CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) (Ref: CEO001/2024) Paterson Grade F1 Post Closing Date: 24 May 2024 The CEO position is a full-time five (5)-year performance based fixed-term contract position (renewable upon Board Evaluation). The CEO’s role is to provide leadership for the OBP and contribute to the growth, profitability, and sustainability of the company by: developing and executing its overall strategy, ensuring that the strategic and operational objectives are met, and reporting to the Chairperson of the Board and working closely with the Board. Main Responsibilities include * Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership in line with the Board approved strategy of the OBP. Contribute to the growth, profitability, and sustainability of the company by developing and executing its overall strategy by leading a team of executives. Ensure that the strategic and operational objectives are met. Promote the vision, mission’ and values of the OBP and ensure that its status as a national key point is maintained.; * Financial and Business Development: Develop, guide, and manage the implementation of systems that provide sound governance, financial management, accounting, procurement, internal controls in line with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations and applicable statutory and accompanying requirements for OBP as a State-Owned Enterprise. Provide guidance on business and sales development strategy congruent with OBP’s strategy.; * Intellectual Property: Introduce measures to ensure the institutionalisation of the identification and protection of the Intellectual Property (IP) of OBP as a National Key Point through regular IP audits, reviews, and application of applicable legislative provisions.; * Employee Relations and Talent Management: Drive the transformation agenda of OBP through effective human resource utilisation with reference to knowledge production and harvesting, talent acquisition, staff capacitation and retention, increased organisational performance. Create and promote a high-performance culture, professionalism, and integrity. Ethical Leadership: Create and practise ethical leadership by ensuring good governance through efficient, effective, and sound financial oversight, and diligent management and administration of the business. * Stakeholder Relations: Develop and manage partnerships and collaborations with all national and international stakeholders, including peer institutions and government entities. Ensure product accessibility to all OBP customers. Position OBP as a nationally recognised animal health solutions company contributing to the agricultural GDP.; * Risk and Compliance: Develop and implement processes that enhance proper governance, effective risk management and continued compliance with regulatory policies, directives, and applicable legislation. UTILITIES SUPERVISOR Ref: US06/2024 Closing Date: 21 May 2024 6 Months Fixed Term contract The position of Utilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the provision of steam, water, nitrogen and clean air to the plant. This includes managing the availability of utilities staff, boiler house operations, water and electricity supplies, compressed air and nitrogen. Responsibilities: * Supervises, coordinates, and monitors utility plant activities; maintains equipment and performs related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of low- and high-pressure boilers, water plant, clean steam generator, nitrogen and electric power generator systems * Must provide leave relief cover for boiler operators when required * Ensure the reliability of all relevant utilities machinery to allow for the attainment of the production plan. * Ensure the compilation of all relevant statutory documentation for the Boiler House * Ensure strict adherence to all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements for the Boiler House* Ensure the adequate supply of diesel to effectively run the back-up generators * Ensure cleaning schedules for all relevant areas are developed, communicated, updated and completed* Conduct daily walkabouts for all areas to identify and resolve any housekeeping issues * Facilitate regular communication with all concerned within the entity in order to ensure production continuity * Address challenges between EMU and other departments that impacts on production* Provide input into the development of a capital expenditure plan for key critical equipment in the EMU department* Formulate and participate in preparing annual budgets on behalf of the department for senior management approval* Identify and mitigate internal systems and procedural barriers to enhance excellent customer service * Implement strategic targets, performance management, and the required cascading of performance objectives in order to drive operational success * Maintain a professional environment that sets the example for the business by living the OBP values * Ensure the mitigation of the department’s risk profile through the application of fraud controls and risk prevention principles and implementing of sound governance and compliance processes and tools to identify and manage risks.
