We are seeking to appoint motivated employees in the following positions: ADVANCEMENT DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR ADVANCEMENT- INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT Starting Salary Range: R 1 039 726.00 per annum, plus benefits Requirements: Postgraduate qualification in Public Relations, Marketing, Business Development or equivalent Ÿ Proven relevant management experience preferably working within a highly structured compliance environment Ÿ Proven track record in fundraising, public relations, marketing & communications ŸAdvanced computer literacy in MS Office Ÿ Valid driver’s license Ÿ Knowledge of all relevant legislation applicable to a cultural institution including the PFMA. Key Responsibilities include: Develop a fundraising strategy, policy, and plan for Iziko Museums which positions the organisation to attract investments and increase donor and self-generated income to enable public engagement initiatives and other strategic objectives Ÿ Develop a branding strategy for Iziko Museums Ÿ Develop and implement strategies for electronic and other communication media Ÿ Maintain and develop relationships with potential donors and benefactors Ÿ Plan and launch public relations campaigns to increase paying visitors to Iziko Museums Ÿ Develop appropriate responses to media issues Ÿ Formulate and implement best practice funding proposals Ÿ Ensure that the departmental budget is aligned with the achievement of the objectives of the Business Plan Ÿ Ensure financial and labour compliance in the department Ÿ Coordinate the production of internal and external communications, publications, materials, branding, wayfinding, annual performance plans, annual report and strategic plans for the institution. Competencies Required: Project management, financial management including procurement, people management Ÿ Leadership, including effectively managing the performance of a small, dedicated staff complement Ÿ Strategy and policy formulation Ÿ Driving projects and tasks for results Ÿ Adaptability, integrity and risk and stress tolerance Ÿ Strong command of the English language (written and verbal) Ÿ Excellent writing and editing skills Ÿ Fundraising best practice Ÿ Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders Ÿ Ability to work independently and pro-actively.
