GAUTENG DEPARTMENT OF COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE AND TRADITIONAL AFFAIRS Establishment of the Valuation Appeal Board and appointment of the members to serve on the Valuation Appeal Board for City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality
Other members and alternate members: Candidates must be professional valuers or an associated professional valuer without restrictions with at least three (3) to five (5) years' experience and sufficient knowledge of the valuation of all different categories of properties. Duties of Valuation Appeal Board: To hear and decide the appeals against the decisions of a municipal valuer concerning objections to matters reflected in, or omitted from, the valuation roll of a municipality for which it was established; issue judgement and any other matter related to the fair and equitable valuation processes; review decisions of a municipal valuer submitted to it in terms of section 52 of the MPRAA and ensure that the valuation roll is adjusted in accordance with the decisions taken by the board. The Chairperson of the board must also be able to attend court cases when the board decisions are challenged. Remuneration: The remuneration of the chairperson and members of the valuation appeal board will be at the same tariff prescribed from time to time for a chairperson of a Commission and member of a Commission by National Treasury Circular issued in terms of Treasury Regulation 20.2.2 as stipulated in the Gazette No. 29595 dated 08 February 2007 on conditions of appointment of members of appeal boards and members of committee established by appeal boards. In appointing members of the Valuation Appeal Board, the MEC will also take into account the need for representivity, including gender representivity. Employees of National, Provincial and Local Government or Institutions, Agencies and Entities of Government serving on Commissions or Committees of Inquiry or audit committees are not entitled to additional remuneration in terms of the National Treasury Circular issued in terms of Treasury Regulation 20.2.2.
