(PRETORIA) Reference Number 1234567 Description The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), a market conduct regulator for the South African financial sector, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to serve as a member of its Social and Ethics Subcommittee. The term of office for the appointed member will be four (4) years, effective from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2028. The FSCA’s Social and Ethics Subcommittee was established in terms of section 68(2) of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, No. 9 of 2017, to advise the Executive Committee (EXCO) of the FSCA on social and ethics matters relevant to the organisation. The establishment of this Subcommittee is in line with the principles and guidelines set out in the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008 and its Regulations and the King IV Code on Corporate Governance for South Africa. Subcommittee Members are responsible for assisting the FSCA’s EXCO in building and sustaining an ethical and social corporate culture in the FSCA, ensuring that the ethical standards are clearly articulated and integrated into the entity’s strategies and operations. Requirements Applicants must be in possession of a relevant degree (NQF Level 8 or equivalent) and have experience in corporate governance at an executive level. Essential requirements include knowledge and understanding of corporate governance, exposure to relevant legislation and policies, and exceptional communication skills, as well as an understanding of the FSCA's mandate and objectives. Additionally, the candidate must have at least 5 to 8 years expertise in integrated reporting, ethics, sustainability, social responsibility, ESG, and labor relations. Essential requirements • Relevant knowledge and over 10 years experience in leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) environments • Knowledge and at least 5 years experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks and adoption • Knowledge and at least 5 years Experience in adoption of responsible AI and fostering ethical, transparent and accountable use of AI • Knowledge and experience over 10 years in Data Strategy development and execution, Data Governance and Data privacy oversight • Knowledge and over 10 years experience in Cyber Security Strategy development and execution including cyber risk management • Over 10 years oversight experience in Digital transformation strategy execution • Basic knowledge of human-centred design principles will be advantageous. Requirements Applicants should be in a possession of a relevant degree in Computer Science/AI/ Cybersecurity or equivalent Certificate in ICT Governance Frameworks, COBIT5 or COBIT 2019. Certificate in Data Governance will be advantageous.
