ANALYST: LICENSING DEPARTMENT (PRETORIA) Reference Number FSCA552 Description Purpose of the Job: To assist the department with the processing of new licence applications, variation of licences, auditor appointments and removals, compliance officer approvals and removals as well as the performance of any other licensing-related functions and activities. The person appointed to this position will report to the Manager: Licensing. Key Performance Areas: • Analyse and recommend approval or decline of all applications submitted for authorization (including concurrence granting) in respect of Financial Services Providers, Collective Investment Schemes, Collective Investment Schemes management companies, Retirement Funds Benefit Administrators, Insurers, banks, Cooperative Financial Institutions, Compliance Officers as well as any related requests; • Project management and report writing; • Analyse and recommend approval or decline of applications by foreign entities residing outside of South Africa; • Assist in ensuring that only fit and proper individuals, directors of companies, members of close corporations and sole proprietors are approved in management structures of authorised entities. The process analyst will conduct process mapping, modeling and analysis to identify the gaps, issues, and opportunities for improvement. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Manager: Business Process Improvement Department Key Performance Areas: • Implementation and maintenance of the Business Process Improvement framework/methodology, approach, process standards, tools, techniques, competencies, and practices aligning to IIBA best practices. • Maintenance of the business process repository • Development and maintenance of a functional capability model of the organisation. • Analysis of current business processes, functional procedures, and business rules for process optimisation • Facilitation of process evaluation workshops with stakeholders when implementing new, or when improving existing processes. • Provision of training and support to ensure adoption of modified or new processes. • Monitoring of implemented changes to business processes ensuring regular review of adherence to performance indicators process. • Collaboration with business Process Owners as well as the relevant stakeholders and ICT in designing their end-to-end processes and aligning business, process, and IT architecture aspects. • Participation in the change impact assessment of business transformation/optimization projects and business capability step ups. • Continuous collaboration with ICT to ensure progress towards process architectural alignment with project goals and requirements. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree (e.g., BA, BCom, BSc) or equivalent in Computer Science / Business Process Management / Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience • A minimum of at least 7 years or more proven and relevant experience in Business Process Analysis and Design • BABOK training/certification beneficial. • Lean Six Sigma Green and Black Belts preferred. • 7 years’ experience in defining, mapping and modelling business processes though various tools. • Thorough understanding and experience in using the BPM/BPMN modelling notations. • Project Management Experience preferred. The person will assist the department in conducting benchmarking and fieldwork research, analyze and draw relevant market conduct insights. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Manager: Disclosure, Advertising and Market Analysis. Key Performance Areas: • Conduct on-going scanning and analysis of media both social and on-line campaigns; • Assists in reviewing the advertising and disclosure materials by specific regulated entities; • Assist the department in conducting research work and drafting reports from the research findings; • Assist in providing support to the internal departments as may be required from time-to-time; and • Perform such other tasks necessary or desirable to enhance the performance of the department.
